RESIDENTS in Spain, aged 50 or over, live up to 14 years longer than some of their European neighbours, a study has revealed.
The study, published in British scientific journal The Lancet, showed that quality of life for the over-50s in Spain is one of the best in Europe.
The investigation, by researchers at the UK's Leicester University, said that although life expectancy in the EU is increasing, it is unclear whether the extra years were spent in good health. “Growing old in Spain is not the same as it is for those in Estonia,” confirmed the report - which highlighted that retirement can be very different from country to country.
