BALEARIC President Francesc Antich said yesterday that he is prepared to ally himself and his party with anyone in order to bring the region out of recession.

Asked about the possibility of having to govern in a minority, the President said that if there are constitutional difficulties, then it is for the government to sort them out. “What I don't want is for it to become a problem for the population of the Balearic Islands,” he added.
Admitting to “concern” over the number of corruption scandals emerging at a national and regional involving government figures, the President alleged that most had their roots in the previous centre-right government and that he was now keen to close loopholes in the law.
