MAJORCA'S business and tourism communities were yesterday mourning the loss of the owner of the luxury Son Vida, Mardavall and Arabella hotels.
Although the exact cause of death has yet to be confirmed, it is understood that the 47-year-old father of three died of a sudden and unexpected heart attack at his home on the outskirts of Munich on Monday.

German business tycoon Stefan Schörghuber, whose global Schörghuber Unternehmensgruppe conglomerate included Bayerische Bau & Immobilien, Germany's largest real estate corporation with more than 200 buildings, Bavaria International Aircraft Leasing; cable cars and golf resorts and the Paulaner brewery, was the owner of the Arabella Hotel Chain which included the Son Vida, Mardavall and Arabella hotels and golf courses in Majorca.

This year, the magazine Forbes listed Schörghuber as having the 307th largest fortune in the world.
Forbes listed the Bachelor of Arts and Science as having a net worth of $3.5 billion.
