THE Hoteliers Association in Palma (ASHPAMA) presented a new promotional brochure yesterday which accompanied by a compact disc, aims to attract weekend tourism to the city as well as congresses and other forms of business tourism. The leaflet, which will be distributed amongst tour operators, travel agents and companies connected with congresses and weekend breaks, was flagged up by regional Tourism minister, Joan Flaquer; Palma's mayor, Catalina Cirer; and the Council of Majorca's Tourist Information director, Josep Bestard. Others attending the launch of the advertising campaign included Raimundo Alabern, the director of Spain's promotional vehicle, Ibatur; Miguel Llado, president of the Chamber of Commerce; and the head of Majorca's Hotel Federation, Pere Cañellas. The brochures and CDs will be on the counters at the next Tourism Trade Fair, Fitur, which will be held in Madrid in 2006; as well as at a Business Tourism Exhibition to be held in Frankfurt in May; and at the World Travel Market in London.
