PALMA City Council and the Majorcan Institute for Tourism (IMTUR) will be represented today at the Barcelona Business Tourism Fair which runs until Thursday this week.

Tourism and Commerce Councillor, Joana M. Borras will be attending the event which, with more than 3'000 suppliers and 6'000 visitors, provides an opportunity to acquire the “best contacts in the industry”.

IMTUR, said Borras, is following its plans to attract business tourism to Majorca and this year will be having its own stand in Barcelona. Already, there are some 20 conference organisers wanting to meet with IMTUR representatives during the course of the fair - not just from European countries but from as far afield as Russia and Argentina.

At these meetings, Palma will be promoted as a city specialising in hosting international congresses, conferences and business incentive trips.
