PALMA
ON the day it was revealed that 87 percent of Majorca's retail sector is complaining that trade last month was well down on November of last year, the two main retail associations launched a campaign to try and lift consumer confidence and get people spending over Christmas.

The main focus of the festive commercial drive is on the capital where the retail sector is complaining the most.
Nine out of ten traders in Palma claim to have suffered a poor November but the Majorcan Chamber of Commerce, the City Council and the retail associations hope that by creating “a Palma full of magic and illusion”, consumer confidence which has been hit hard by the recession, will recover.
