Palma de Majorca.—Balearic families are going to be spending slightly less than the national average on toys for their children as presents this Christmas.

According to the results of a survey carried out by Eroski, Balearic families are going to be spending an average of 188 euros, a little less than the national average of 205 euros.

Ironically, it is one of the traditionally poorest regions of Spain, Andalusia, where the most is going to be spent of children's presents, an average of 253 euros per family, while in Madrid and Catalonia, the average expenditure is going to be about 200 euros per family.

But children need not worry about missing out. With so many special offers and discounts already being offered by the retail sector to try and get people spending, they may be unwrapping more presents than usual with consumers shopping wisely to get the most out of their money.
