Palma.—The Palma High Court yesterday ruled that the ninth-month jail sentence for the former Balearics President and Spanish Environment Minister, Jaume Matas, stands.
Matas, who is embroiled in the 100 million euro Palma Arena velodrome corruption scandal, had applied to the court for the nine-month stretch to be transferred into a fine.
However, the High Court yesterday rejected his appeal.
