Can Picafort.—Santa Margalida council came under further pressure yesterday not to pull up the last remaining stretch of the cycle lane along the sea front in Can Picafort.

The local council wants to remove the 850 metre-long cycle lane because it is apparently causing problems for the bar and restaurant terraces.
However, opponents disagree and pointed out yesterday that most of the sea front bars and restaurants in the resorts are closed for seven months of the year.

Defendants of the cycle lane claimed that this is typical of the change in government with the new council merely wishing to over turn the policies and projects its predecessor carried out.
