PALMA
OVER half of the Balearic population considers the current political situation to be “very serious” according to a survey carried out for the Bulletin sister paper Ultima Hora.

The Balearic Institute for Social Studies poll reveals that a further 23 percent believe the situation to be “serious” which means that 78 percent of the population are deeply worried about the current political infighting and rising number of corruption cases in which a number of leading political figures have been implicated.

And, nearly 60 percent doubt that President Antich and his government is neither capable of resolving the political conflict nor coping with the economic challenges. 29 percent do, however, have sufficient belief in his leadership qualities to confront the institutional problems and the recession.
