MANY residents of El Terreno have complained again about the construction work going on in the area.
The work is being done to construct a block of flats and an underground car park on a site situated between the Calles Dos de Maig and Josep Vilalonga. One of the residents of the area said that these works have caused cracks in the walls of neighbouring buildings. The resident also expressed her concern about the vibrations which can be felt when the excavators are working on the site, and added that only lorries of up to 2.5 tonnes are permitted to drive through the area, but 25 tonne lorries are coming here. She also said that the residents of the area had made various complaints to the council about the works. For his part, the head of the company doing the work said that the company had the appropriate licences, and added that a geotechnical study had also been done to guarantee that the work was being carried out correctly. He also confirmed that the building will have 10 flats and an underground car park for 90 cars. At the start, the car park was not planned, but it was included because of the lack of parking spaces in the street, he said.
