THE Balearics should enjoy a fine and settled festive season, according to weather forecasters.
Met office spokesman Angel Rivera said the bad weather that has affected the region over the past few days should move eastwards with a new front bringing settled and calm conditions moving in tomorrow.

The forecaster said there was a remote possibility of light showers in the Balearics, but temperatures were expected to remain around 15 degrees centigrade.

However, after Christmas there was a possibility of another cold snap with light snow falls in high places.
But the Met Office forecast that any showers would be lighter and more infrequent than in the past few weeks.
Winter officially begins on Sunday after a freezing and saturated end to the Autumn months. According to the Met Office, it was one the coldest and wettest autumns since 1965, despite below average rainfall until September. A succession of cold fronts then brought the bad weather to the region with more rain and temperatures colder than normal.
