STAFF REPORTER THE Consumer Price Index (IPC) rose by 0.7 percent in the Balearics last month, the year-on-year IPC stood at 2 percent, whilst so far this year prices have risen by 2.1 percent, the National Institute for Statistics (INE) confirmed yesterday.

According to the latest INE research, items which most influenced the rise in the Consumer Price Index were clothes and shoes. Between October and November this year, prices rose by 8.2 percent.

Transport costs, which rose 0.9 percent within the same period, were also a factor, said the INE. Prices rose last month in all regions of the country. Top of the list was Asturias (1.1 percent). The Balearics was in fourth place.
