Their was little festive spirit during the last parliamentary session before Christmas yesterday when the new Symbol Law was tabled.

Palma.—With 33 votes in favour from the majority party, the governing centre right Partido Popular, the Symbol Law was passed which means that no  unofficial emblems or symbols can be hung or displayed on the outside of public buildings, in particular schools.
Then opposition Socialist Party  launched a scathing attack on the PP claiming that this new law is the “biggest attack yet on the public’s civil liberties” adding that the new law may in fact be anti constitutional.
