Palma.—Cycling  on the pavement and failing to collect your pets’ droppings  from  the street will from now on be considered a civic crime, Alvaro Gijon, Palma’s Councillor for Tourism announced yesterday.
The government says the current laws are not producing the desired effects and a change is needed, following complaints from local residents.  Gijon reminded that under the current civil laws, binge drinking on the street (Botellon), street games involving money and posting unauthorised publicity and billboards are also considered infractions.  Citizens who use the services of prostitutes are set to be fined, while prostitutes who take their business near schools, parks or areas where children might be present could also be fined.
