A student paralysed from the waist down after falling from a Magalluf apartment block has won a prestigious commendation for his inspiring success.
Craig Willis, of Ponteland, Co. Durham, received the Barclays Capital Xcel Business and Commerce Student of the Year award, just a year after falling from the fifth floor balcony while holidaying in Majorca.

The 23-year-old returned to Newcastle Business School, part of Northumbria University, just weeks after his accident and went on to achieve a first-class degree this summer.

He was presented with his award by the university's Deputy Vice Chancellor for Region and Engagement Dr Peter Slee.
Craig, who now works for Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Newcastle, said: “I was really surprised to be nominated for the award as there are many people more deserving.
