Palma.—Gale force winds continued to rip through the island yesterday and cause havoc in many areas.
According to the Palma Met Office winds of up to 100 kilometres an hour were recorded in some parts of the island yesterday. In El Toro numerous yachts slipped their moorings and were washed up on the shore.
Christmas Day was one of the coldest on record this year, according to the Palma Met Office.
