After the chaotic start to last term with teachers on strike for three weeks in protest over the TILtrilingual programme, new strikes are planned for the new year.
Palma.— Last week, the public sector announced a day of industrial action on 7 January, when the new term is due to start and yesterday, unions representing the private sector also called for industrial action in solidarity with their colleagues in the public sector.
This time, the strike has been called over disciplinary action being taken against the head of the IES secondary school in Marratxi and the education sector as a whole, considers this to be another attack by the government which refuses to open up any avenues of dialogue with teaching unions
