If the new Balearic Minister for Tourism, Jaime Martinez, wants to improve promoting the region, he better get on with it as the Balearics facing some tough competition for Summer 2014 already.

Palma.—As the Bulletin reported earlier this week, the Balearics is already struggling in the early booking market and according to the annual ABTA holiday trends, the Balearics does not appear to be  “a destination to watch” for 2014 at the moment with one of the most important booking periods of the year having started on Boxing Day.
The Travel Association’s Travel Trends Report 2014 has been  developed in association with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the  report predicts cautious optimism in the holiday market for the year ahead with consumers continuing to holiday and planning to spend more than they did in 2013.
