Year-on-year unemployment fell in many parts of Spain last month but it was the Balearics which posted the sharpest drop in the number of  people out of work.

Palma.—Last month, the number of people officially registered as out of work with the unemployment offices fell by 283, a fall of 0.3 percent in comparison to November and reducing the total number of registered unemployed in the Balearics to 91,215 at the end/beginning of the year.
Compared to December 2012, unemployment in the Balearics has fallen by 4,620 people, a year-on-year decrease of 4.82 percent, according to the Ministry for Labour and Social Security.
