Palma.—The current Partido Popular Balearic government may well be meeting its deficit targets but, it is going to take the future Balearic government, be they centre right PPor Socialist, until 2042 to clear the 2,400 million euro debt run up by the last PP government run by Jaume Matas.
Matas, currently under investigation for fraud and corruption, left the Balearics with some massive out standing debts which still have to be cleared while the government tries to balance the books on a daily basis.
