Government vows to stop oil prospecting in Balearic waters

Balearic government spokesperson Nuria Riera, yesterday repeated the government’s pledge to stop oil prospecting in waters off Ibiza.
“We are prepared to do everything we c an and take the necessary action to stop the project,” she said.
“Even if the prospecting is legal we intend to fight the permission granted by the former Socialist central government. We will explore every legal avenue available because we know that it can be stopped and that is exactly what we intend to do,” she stressed.
