The Balearics has got behind Ibiza’s campaign to stop oil prospecting in local waters and over the weekend over 7,000 signatures against the project were collected in Majorca.

Palma.— And, yesterday morning, the “Balears diu no” (Balearics says no) campaign handed in a petition against oil prospecting by the Scottish company Cairn Oil in waters off Ibiza which had been signed by a total of 7,072 people, to the Minister for the Environment and Agriculture, Biel Company, in Palma.
Most of the signatures were collected over the weekend at two information points set up in the centre of Palma and in el Molinar.
