Palma.—Balearic vineyards sold 4,32 million litres of wine worth 26.3 million euros last year.
The figures revealed yesterday show an increase in sales of almost eight percent compared with 2012’s production levels and over five percent more financially.
Some 79 percent were sold to Balearic households and businesses, 15 percent to other countries in the European Union, five percent to other countries and only 2 percent to other regions of Spain.
Despite the low percentage sold to other Spanish regions, numbers still represent an 80 percent growth from 2012.
Consumption levels in the Balearics also rose by six percent, a similar situation experienced with the other markets.
