BEVERLEY Pugh has not only lived in Majorca for most of her life, she has also been obsessed with food, for the wrong and right reasons, she will admit.
However, for the best part of the past two decades, her fascination for food has been a positive one and she has become one of the few living food lifestyle coaches inSpain, specialising in the raw food diet and cooking.
Beverely is the first to recognise that, being based in Spain, where attitudes to healthy food and living are about ten years behind Northern Europe, has not helped her mission to educate and increase people’s awareness to the vast benefits of the raw food diet.
However, she has battled on and last year brought out her own line of raw food products, Raw Food by Beverley, which includes a wide range of products from mueslis to crackers, buckwheat substitutes for pop corn for children, cheeses, pasta substitutes etc. and the world has finally woken up to what Beverley is doing from her base here at her home in Majorca.
So, what is raw food? Well, Beverley is going to be giving a talk on 23 April at 7p.m at Yerbabuena, in the Plaça dels Patins in Palma, she will be cooking raw food delights at the Palma Boat Show and will be present at the Porreres Organic Fair on 13 April, should you want to sample what she cooks and discuss the benefits of raw food with her.
