The domestic holiday industry appears to have finally returned to life and recovered from the recession, but the growth market is holiday rentals.

Palma.—According to the Spanish wing of the global portal HomeAway, which specialises in and monitors  holiday home rentals worldwide, this Easter, demand for holiday lets in Spain is 46 percent higher than last year  while the number of Spaniards looking to rent a holiday home overseas  is 11 percent stronger  than last year.
But, when it comes to going abroad, the majority of Spaniards are remaining in Europe.
The big winner this Easter is going to be Holland, which has seen bookings from Spain rise by 170 percent, followed by Portugal, up 99 percent and then the United Kingdom which has so far posted a 42 percent increase  in bookings.
