Van makes a splash in Puerto Portals

Palma.—Initially, there was a great sense of panic because nobody knew if there was anyone inside the van or not.
A team of divers was quickly on the scene and quickly managed to establish that the vehicle had been fortunately empty when it  rolled over the edge and into the water just in front of Diablito restaurant.

Public attention
The emergency services were nevertheless called to the scene and the area had to cleared of vehicles so that a crane and other heavy lifting gear could access the scene to lift the vehicle out of the water.
The operation attracted a great deal of attention from the general public who were snapping away with their cameras and mobile phones as the van was lifted off the sea bed and back onto dry land.
