One person was seriously injured and three others escaped unhurt when the gang plank to the former royal yacht gave way yesterday.
Palma.—The former royal yacht Fortuna was given up by the King of Spain, who announced his abdication last Monday, as a sign of solidarity with the rest of the country which was in the grip of the recession.
Yesterday at 12.4pm, the gang plank apparently gave way.
Two members of the crew landed in the water but another, according to eyewitnesses, hit the lower deck and suffered injuries to his head and shoulder.
Last night he was being treated in the Policinica Miramar.
According to reports from the scene, scores of police and ambulances were quickly on site and it apparently took the best part of an hour to remove the injured worker off the boat and into an ambulance.
