Palma.—Nearly 900 employees of Palma’s municipal water and refuse board EMAYA yesterday voted in favour of indefinite strike action.
The President of the Works Committee, Miguel Romero said after the meeting that the level of cleanliness of the city has “deteriorated so much to a level that in some areas has never been seen before.”
He explained that what employees want is the adequate resources and equipment to do their jobs properly and keep Palma clean.”
According to Romero, the management shake up in an attempt to save money has not worked and that staff want to see bosses review the situation and introduce fresh measures which will enable employees to do their work properly.
