Palma—The President of the Balearic government, Jose Ramon Bauza, echoed Margaret Thatcher´s famous words to the European Union yesterday when he demanded money back from Madrid.
Bauza demanded a better deal for the islands after it was revealed that the islands pay Madrid far more than they get in return. Infact the figure stands at almost 1.483 million euros.
The Balearic President has been under pressure to resolve the islands´ historic debt with Madrid especially as his government has been forced to make important spending cuts over recent years as a result of the economic slowdown.
