The numb er of foreign visitors coming to Spain to enjoy some water sports and nautical activities this year has risen by 20 percent, although revenue has fallen mainly because of a contraction in the domestic market.
According to industry sources, the three most popular and profitable sports are paddlesurf, kitesurf and kayaking while there has been a general decline in the number of yachts being chartered.
The international market this year is accounting for between 60 and 65 percent of the overall nautical market with the British and Germans driving the increase in demand.
There has also been significant growth in the Dutch and French markets.
