Palma.—A 69-year-old British holiday maker has been arrested for apparently having attempted to pull off an insurance scam.
The individual was arrested by the National Police after the Briton reported to the police that he had lost two electronic books, 570 pounds in cash, a video camera, a mobile telephone, an electric razor and an electric hair remover from his case while it was being stored in the luggage room of the hotel in which he was staying in the Playa de Palma.
The report was filed six days after the alleged theft took place and, because the Briton had an extensive insurance policy, the National Police decided to investigate the claim because they suspected a possible insurance scam.
