THE Balearic minister for Education, Nuria Riera, called for a responsible approach to the dispute over her department´s controversial three language learning programme which has been slammed as not fit for purpose by the Balearic High Court. The plan, which involves teaching in English, Spanish and Catalan, has been rejected by teachers but some schools on the island have already introduced it while others are pondering their options. Riera says that she doesn´t want a different teaching plan in different schools.
But the Balearic High Court has stalled the whole process claiming that schools should not be teaching the three language plan eventhough the Balearic government has appealed their ruling.
