An Irish couple rescued by Andratx police after their vessel crashed against the rocks. It was after midnight on Sunday when police received several calls from locals who saw the 12 metre yacht tipped against the rocks of Sant Elm,near Puerto Andratx.
The couple were out for dinner when the incident occured but after understanding what was happening, tried to reach it using a smaller boat. But the strong winds proved to be too much for the couple (aged 47 and 65) who were trying to reach the vessel in the hope of saving some of their belongings, and it took several police maritime rescuers to bring them safely into land.
