IF the polls are to be believed at the moment the newly created left leaning party Podemos will win a general election in Spain, the Scottish Nationalist Party will take every parliamentary seat in Scotland and the United Kingdom Independence Party will be in a controlling position after some notable victories in the British general election.  So why do Ibelieve that the Partido Popular will win the next local and general elections in Spain and that the Conservatives will probably triumph in the UK general election and the SNPwill have an equal number of seats as in the last general election? Because the elections are still months away but on polling day voters will stick with the party they have always supported and will not take risks.  Voting for Podemos is a risk, because you are voting for the unknown. Voting for UKIPis a waste of time because it is still a “one ticket wonder” and Ibelieve that the SNPis getting a “sympathy vote” after their referendum defeat. Now, don´t get me wrong these parties are doing the electorate a great service; they are forcing the mainstream parties to work for their living and are pushing forward new ideas. It takes courage and plenty of it to vote for the unknown. Yes they would probably make a difference and yes they will probably split the vote. But, in Spain I can´t see any radical change and in Britain Ed Miliband´s leadership will keep David Cameron in Number 10.  Scotland already voted in the referendum.
