Michael Douglas’s love affair with Majorca, where he has owned a property for nearly 25 years, appears to have come to an end.

Palma.—Yesterday, the Oscar-winning actor put his property, S’Estaca, up for sale for around 40 million pounds.
Douglas bought the sea front property, off the road down to the Port of Valldemossa, nearly 25 years ago with his ex-wife, Diandra Luker.
Douglas and Luker were married between 1977 to 2000 and since the divorce, they have ‘time shared’ the property with Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones enjoying access during the first half of the year and Diandra, the final six months.
Douglas, who spent a small fortune on refurbishing the property in 1990, has never made any secret of his love for S’Estaca and Majorca. He was once the region’s ambassador, helping to promote the Balearics at the World Travel Market, for example.
He also invested five million euros in building Costa Nord in Valldemossa to help promote the Tramuntana mountains.
But, more recently, he has come to the island less and less and for much shorter periods, while  Zeta Jones, who  used to join her family on holidays in Magalluf when growing up, has stayed clear of Majorca for many years.
