Winter will have officially started by the time you read this article this morning but yesterday, the Winter Solstice lit up Palma Cathedral.
Hundreds of people were out bright and early to get into position to watch the rising sun filter through the Cathedral’s giant rose window. Bright colours spilled out across the city in the direction of Es Baluard, the most popular vantage point, while streams of early morning light illuminated the inside of the Cathedral.
Arare spectacle which occurs just twice a year but is a sight not to be missed.
