143 foreigners were deported from the Balearics last year

Last year a total of 143 foreign inhabitants in the Balearics were expelled, according to figures released by the Central Government Delegation in the Balearics yesterday.
Most of the deportation orders were issued to inhabitants living illegally in the region, without the correct paper work and criminal records.
The number was lower than usual because the recession and lack of job prospects deterred more and more immigrants from coming to the Balearics.
