The head of the Local Police in Palma, Juan Mut and the Councillor for Citizen Security, Guillermo Navarro, were yesterday quizzed in a Palma court about alleged claims of extortion and exam fixing inside the force.
Four members of the local force had already been arrested in connection with the two claims and it was revealed yesterday that four more have been taken into custody taking the total number of suspects to eight.
The joint investigation is being carried out by the Guardia Civil and the National Police and more arrests are not being ruled out.
The investigation is focused on two areas.
