Probably one of the highlights of new Real Mallorca owner, Utz Claassen´s first home game as Real Mallorca owner, was whenhe visited the predominantly British Son Flo supporters club and he was greeted with a hug by one British supporter who said “you are now one of us.” Claassen told me that he was very pleased at the response he had received from the Son Flo supporters group and said that he hoped that more British football fans on the island would support Mallorca. So the ball is rather in our court, (or should I say pitch!).  I was at the Son Moix on Sunday and I was  impressed. There was a good atmosphere but sadly the ground was only half full, which was a pity. But, I am told that plans will soon be put in place to try and attract more supporters to the ground. Some of the winners of our ticket giveaway competition who were at the ground on Sunday asked me why we didn´t form an English-speaking supporters club. I am more than willing to take this idea to the club if readers are interested. One thing for sure, is that Claassen and his new management team will be looking to make the club more international and therefore attract more non-Spanish supporters.  This is great news. I sincerely hope that Mallorca continue to prosper and even though promotion is a distant dream this season it is still possible. If you feel at home in Majorca then you should support your local team and that is Real Mallorca.
