Last year, a total of 13,579,265 visitors came to the Balearics, four percent more than in the previous year.
Sources at the Balearic Ministry for Tourism said that of those 13.5 million, 2.2 million were domestic tourists which represents an 11 percent increase on the previous year.
Majorca experienced a two percent rise in tourists, Minorca 1.6 percent and Ibiza, the island which was very much in fashion last year, visitor figures increased by 13 percent.
The Germans dominated the Balearic market with 4,142,954 visitors, the British came second with 3,385.173 holiday makers, an increase of 1.l3 percent on 2013, matching the growth in the German market, and the domestic market came third.
