Palma.—Majorca and Sir Richard Branson sadly did not part on very good terms after his plans to transform his estate in Son Bunyola into a luxury eco-resort were frustrated by the local Mayor of Banyalbufar at the time along with local environmentalists.
He subsuquently upped sticks, sold La Residencia Hotel in Deya and simply developed luxury resorts elsewhere in the world.
But, news that his son Sam and wife Bella have named their first baby Eva-Deia in tribute to “one of the most beautiful villages in the world”, was the main topic of conversation in the coffee shops and bars in Deya and Soller yesterday morning.
Despite being “run out of Majorca”, Bransons still hold Majorca dear in their hearts
