The central government delegate to the Balearics, Teresa Palmer, yesterday welcomed eight new National Police inspectors.

Palma.—In the presence of the Chief Inspector of the Balearic National Police, Antonio Jarabo, the central government delegate, Teresa Palmer, welcomed the eight new inspectors and stressed the importance of maintaining maximum levels of safety and security in the Balearics during the tourist season when, at the peak of August, the size of the population almost doubles.

Pillar of society
Of the eight new National Police inspectors, six will be based in Majorca while two will be deployed to Ibiza.
Palmer said that the state security forces, such as the National Police “are a vital pillar of society and our welfare, whether it comes to residents or visitors and they play a vital role in ensuring that the Balearics continues to be a competitive holiday destination by keeping the region safe.”
