According to Gopili, the travel price comparison website, Palma’s Son Sant Joan airport ranks eleventh in terms of the number of low-cost air routes to European airports. There are 91 in total, which is a touch over 10% of all low-cost routes in Spain: 837 in all. Spain is number two in Europe when it comes to low-cost routes, headed only by the UK with 935.

Behind Spain come Germany (578), France (574) and Italy (546).

Barcelona-El Prat airport has the most routes of Spanish airports (160) this summer and is joint second with Paris behind London with 217 (the survey doesn’t distinguish between the different London airports).
