With a rise of 4.9% in August (compared with 2014), the Balearics registered the greatest increase in registration with the social security system among regions of Spain, bringing the number up to 505,241. There was also an increase over July but only marginal, one of 0.16%.

So how does the rise in unemployment contradict the so-called 'record tourist season'? If this is a so-called 'record tourist season 'then perhaps your politicians need to get of their back sides and out of their offices and take a look at the reality of the situation for themselves and think long and hard about introducing a new tourist tax.
