Residents of Son Serra de Marina are once more voicing their discontent with Santa Margalida town hall. Typical among the complaints are the vacant lots that are used as dumps, the absence of waste bins and a lack of maintenance for public areas, such as parks. The residents say that they have paid special rates in order to bring about an improvement to Son Serra, e.g. by the planting of trees.

Mayor Martí Torres insists that the town hall will make every effort to ensure that Son Serra is looked after. It has suffered from neglect in recent years, he says, but whenever the Partido Popular (his party) has governed, "we have been with the residents of Son Serra".
