"These have been the symbols of the fair for 26 years," said Alcudia's councillor for fairs and markets, Caty Pericàs, as she and other members of the town hall gathered in front of "La Sala" this lunchtime for the presentation of the poster for this year's fair, which will be held from 2 to 4 October. These symbols are the heads of S'Estol Rei en Jaume, the King James I "group", and they include the king himself, the Moorish king (Jaume's opponent), the figure of Ramon Llull, and others who have been made up and who are symbolic or satirical. The group was created with the fair, which started in 1989 in its present form, in mind.
