Partido Popular spokesperson in Palma, Marga Duran, believes that the town hall’s transport department is going to cause chaos tomorrow (Tuesday) because of the prohibiting of parking in the city centre in celebration of European (and World) Car Free Day.

Duran says that the PP supports the measure to close off the centre but is concerned that there has been insufficient planning in order to let the public know exactly what is happening. “It seems bad to us if there isn’t sufficient information being given to all members of the public.” Duran had insisted that the town hall provided much advance information via the EMT bus company and all the city’s public transport services as well as via the municipal website.

“Let’s hope it will be ok and that everything is programmed so that the local police and the department of transport can ensure that there isn’t chaos.”
