Police numbers for trouble spots in Calvia - Magalluf and Santa Ponsa, most notably - are being added to by twenty officers hired for the summer. This increased strength plus changes to procedures and operational systems will, the town hall hopes, lead to greater control.

Good news - let's hope they get stuck in and don't hang around at the edges and just watch bad things happening.
So much for the much-vaunted ''new Magaluf'' A few new hotels are never going to change that or the fact that in the summer months, most of its tourists are going for a big p**s up and a s**g
We had four police on Santa Ponsa roundabout the other night. 50 metres away one way were looky men selling their wares and 50 metres the other way were the prostitutes waiting to pounce.
