A drugs and arms dealer, identified as J.Q., has been arrested for the murder of Gary Hutch in Mijas (Malaga) on 24 September, 2015. It was that murder which has so far led to the killing of ten other people, the latest one having been Trevor O'Neill in Costa de la Calma last month: all a consequence of the feud between the Irish Kinahan and Hutch gangs. Police are now convinced that Mr. O'Neill was shot by mistake.

The arrest has come as part of a joint operation between the Guardia Civil and the Irish Garda's drugs and organised crime bureau. Irish officers were present during searches carried out at four homes and at a Marbella gym. Vehicles, weapons and mobile phones were among items seized.

Irish police have not yet confirmed if the arrested man is Irish, but it is understood that he is "known" to the Garda and is described as a "key player" in the gang warfare. Gary Hutch was shot dead near his Marbella apartment in what was considered to have been a killing to "settle scores". Further arrests in Dublin are expected in the near future.
